VC-M1 Mobile Video Conferencing System

The mobile video conferencing system allows you to conduct video conferences with individuals or in groups. Automated cameras and a room intercom create a realistic conference situation. The system can be set up anywhere on the Toni Campus.

Level of difficulty

The mobile video conferencing system is ready for use in just a short time. Only a power cable and a network cable need to be installed. Another screen or projector may be connected as a second monitor via HDMI if necessary. The video conference then takes place on the main monitor, and the shared content is presented on the second screen.

This system has the same technology as the fixed VC-5F04 station: a semi-automated video conferencing system for groups with several automated cameras and microphones. However, it can be used anywhere on the Toni Campus with a trolley.

It is possible to connect in two different ways: direct calls or via third-party video conferencing software.

In the case of direct calls, the conference partner also requires a professional system that is H323/SIP-compatible. The connection is of a high quality and clear. If a participant decides to connect through a third-party video conferencing software, the corresponding software must also have the H.323/SIP protocol – such as the Zoom video conferencing software. It is available to all ZHdK employees. If you would like to take part in a conference with Zoom, your discussion partners only need to install a free plug-in and can participate through a range of digital devices such as laptops, tablets and smartphones.

Conferences via free services such as Skye, Apple FaceTime or Google Hangout are not possible with this video conferencing system.

The system can be borrowed from ITZ on request. To do so, please use the form or write to service.itz@zhdk.ch
